NetNewsWire

Follow the sites you choose.

  • News
  • iOS

An RSS reader that brings articles from your chosen sites into one reading list, with a local mode that needs no sync-service signup.

Why it’s here

NetNewsWire starts with a choice of sources. Add the feeds you want to follow, then read their new articles in one place instead of checking each site separately.

The open-source reader includes folders, starred articles and feed-list import and export. Those are practical tools for keeping a reading habit portable rather than tied to a recommended-content feed.

Its local On My iPhone mode works without signing up for a feed-sync service. Choose syncing deliberately if you want the same reading state on several devices; local storage and cross-device syncing are different arrangements.

What you can do

  • Subscribe directly to RSS and Atom feeds
  • Organize subscriptions into folders
  • Read Today, All Unread and starred articles
  • Import or export feed lists with OPML

A good fit for

Reading a personal selection of blogs and news feeds without relying on a social feed.

Before you download

Use On My iPhone for local subscriptions. That local mode does not sync across devices. Optional iCloud or third-party syncing has separate account requirements. The sites you follow must publish compatible feeds; publisher subscriptions and article access still apply.
