A Markdown writing app for notes, drafts and journals, organized with nested tags and links between notes.
Why it’s here
Bear offers a place for a short observation and a longer draft to live together. Nested tags let one note belong to more than one topic.
The editor and note library stay close, with links for connecting related writing. Its storage differs from a folder-based app such as Obsidian: use export when you want portable files outside Bear.
What you can do
- Write and format notes with Markdown
- Group notes using nested tags
- Connect notes with links and backlinks
- Export notes to text and Markdown formats
A good fit for
Writers who want a contained note library with flexible tags and a focused editor.
Before you download
Requires iOS 16 or later. Notes live in Bear’s local database rather than a browsable folder of Markdown files. Export when you need separate files. Optional cross-device sync uses iCloud.
