A note-taking workspace built around local Markdown files, links between ideas and an optional ecosystem of plugins.
Why it’s here
Obsidian gives a note somewhere to grow. Link a reading note to a project or connect several ideas without forcing them into a single folder hierarchy.
The underlying notes are Markdown files in a vault. Start with writing and links, then add plugins only when a specific workflow needs them. Local files give you control, but they still need a backup plan.
What you can do
- Write notes as local Markdown files
- Connect ideas with links and backlinks
- Explore relationships in graph view
- Adapt the workspace with optional plugins
A good fit for
Building a personal knowledge library that remains accessible as ordinary Markdown files.
Before you download
Requires iOS 15.6 or later. Local notes need no account, but syncing and backups require deliberate setup. Community plugins are optional third-party code; check their permissions and mobile compatibility before enabling them.
